Karen Bresinger is Chabad Lifeline's Family Counsellor and Clinical Director. A week before the Coronavirus arrived in Quebec, she was invited to present at the JGH's Child Psychiatry Unit.
Karen's workshop was incredible. She presented on family systems and how the family roles and dynamics change when an addiction is involved. The goal was to equip and empower the child psychiatrists and clinical nurses with knowledge that can be applied to some of their clients who are children coming from homes where there is an addiction.
The presentation was very well received. As a matter of fact, we were invited to follow up and present to staff who weren't there. When the Coronavirus social distancing is lifted (may that happen soon and may everyone be safe and healthy), we will be hosting a luncheon for those staff at our centre.
